Book Cover Layout
Layout book cover for Janelle Brown’s first novel ‘All We Ever Wanted Was Everything’ – Netherlands edition (Alles wat wij wilden was alles). Although the cover was favored by the layouter and they did fight for it like hell, the outline was ‘client killed’.
The publisher decided to go with the US cover, featuring a ‘cup of ice’. Actually, the layouter became angry about the publisher’s ’stubborn’ decision and they passed back the job for this project stating that for a ‘cup of ice’ an editor is overqualified. However, finally, client is always king and sometimes things are just not turning out.
