Photography Art Auction

Photography Art Auction “Kunst fördert Kinder / Art Supports Children”: this will be the 11th art auction hosted by the German ‘Round Table Club #17 / Bielefeld’, a social networking and charitable organization, where the artwork of international renowned artists is auctioned for a charitable purpose. Each year the revenues will be forwarded to a dedicated social organization. In 2012 the project Fruchtalarm, an organization supporting children suffering from cancer, was chosen.

Former auctions included the artworks of e.g. Joseph Beuys, James Rizzi, Yoko Ono, and many other international acknowledged artists. Just a few of the big names (among others) participating in the upcoming art auction in 2012 are: Christo, Raoul Dufy, Max Pechstein, Markus Lüpertz, Max Liebermann

In 2012 two of my Unique 1/1 Editions Prints, especially visualized and donated for this event, will also be on auction.

Shown above with the donated unique 1/1 edition print is Max, the little hero who agreed to model for the Mark Twain Photo Series, a small photo essay dedicated to the background of the art auction “Art supports Children”. The revenues of this year’s art auction are forwarded to children in hospitals and therefore I challenged myself to create something special with the auction’s designation in mind.

For three hours Max followed my commands and rowed the boat non-stop across the pond from one spot to the other. Posing, *click *click, next spot, posing, *click *click, and so on. But Max never got tired, nor did he say any word …

The frail body of a young boy. Symbolizing the fragile human existence. Centered in the Universe. Caught. Swirled.

The attempt to fish life. To bring ashore. To determine.

Miseries or blessings. At the end it’s just a wave at the lake …

In hindsight of the photo’s designated use the descriptive words to this image kindly were added by one of the most acknowledged Arabic writers and Arabic Booker Price 2011 winner Raja Alem.

Carousel Of Life

Carousel Of Life. Famous black and white art photography. Limited edition fine art print auction.

Photograph Work 2 – Carousel (Lot #40)

Born. The lights go on. The carousel starts to spin. Some experience it as a wheel of fortune. Screeching life. Lights, laughter and fun.

Others are trapped in darkness. They stand on the sidelines. Background actors on the set of life?

A few come to light to help …

Dedicated to this Charity Art Auction, this photograph is issued as an unique 1/1 edition fine art print on Moab Entrada Rag Natural 300 gsm archival fine art paper. Signed en verso and en recto. By MY definition “Unique 1/1 Edition” means: Those are the ONE & ONLY prints of the photographs that EVER will exist. NO other sizes, NO other papers, NO Artist Prints, NO Artist Proofs, NO whatsoever – just those 1/1 editions. Finito.

All informations can be found on the Art Auction’s Homepage Kunst fördert Kinder (German language only).
