Vogue Italia, the Italian and least commercial edition of ‘Vogue Magazine’, is rated as the best edition of all Vogue magazines and VOGUE Italia is considered as the world’s top fashion magazine. Frequently shocking and provocative, Vogue Italia’s imagery goes beyond fashion to be about art and ideas.
Very often Vogue Italia editorials are influential. E.g. the Vogue Italia ‘All Black / July 2008′ issue featured black models only (photographed by Steven Meisel). This controversial and provoking Vogue magazine edition (fashion insiders claim that black models don’t sell) became the highest selling issue of the Italian Vogue ever and was reprinted twice.
Vogue Italia is owned and run by Conde Nast. The first Vogue Italia issue was born back in 1965. Since 1988 editor in chief is Franca Sozzani. L’Uomo Vogue is a sister publication of Vogue Italia.
